This Thai-inspired shrimp shrimp stir-fry with cabbage delivers just the right kick of heat in an easy recipe that comes together so quickly you could even make it for lunch. With just one skillet, you’ll stir-fry the cabbage, the aromatics and the shrimp. Use a packaged coleslaw mix if you want it to go even faster!   • Shredded cabbage

  • Peeled and deveined shrimp
  • Soy sauce

Directions

Step 1: Stir-fry the cabbage

In a small skillet, stir-fry the cabbage

In a small skillet, stir-fry the cabbage in 1 teaspoon of oil for two minutes or until it’s tender. Remove it and keep it warm.

Step 2: Cook the aromatics and shrimp

In the same skillet, stir-fry onion and garlic

In the same skillet, stir-fry the onion and garlic in the remaining oil until they’re tender.

Add the shrimp, water and soy sauce

Stir in cilantro and pepper flakes

  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 3 teaspoons canola oil, divided
  • 1 slice onion, halved
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 8 uncooked large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh cilantro
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Directions

  1. In a small skillet, stir-fry the cabbage in 1 teaspoon oil for 2 minutes or until tender. Remove and keep warm. In the same skillet, stir-fry onion and garlic in remaining oil until tender. Add the shrimp, water and soy sauce; stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until shrimp turn pink. Stir in cilantro and pepper flakes. Serve with cabbage.
