  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons pomegranate molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne or Aleppo pepper
  • Minced fresh mint or parsley, optional
  • Pita chips

Directions

  1. Place first eight ingredients in a blender; cover and process until blended. Garnish with mint or parsley, if desired. Serve with pita chips.

I've become more and more interested in Israeli dishes, beginning with shakshuka—a wonder breakfast dish. This quick and easy dip called muhammara is a close second and has become a favorite for parties. —Lily Julow, Lawrenceville, Georgia
