Beanie weenies (AKA franks and beans) are a longstanding traditional Saturday night supper in New England. My grandmother would make the baked beans and the canned brown bread served with them from scratch, but now canned varieties of both are available. —Jolene Martinelli, Fremont, New Hampshire
