This is my decadent, robust version of bruschetta. I like to serve it at parties, especially on New Year’s or other winter holidays. If you don’t like blue cheese, you can substitute feta or goat cheese. —Kristyne Mcdougle Walter, Lorain, Ohio

Bacon, Blue Cheese & Fig Bruschetta

Ingredients
- 40 slices French bread baguette (1/2 inch thick)
- 1 cup fig preserves
- 1 cup crumbled cooked bacon
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 3 tablespoons balsamic glaze
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400°. Place bread on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, 5-7 minutes. Spread with fig preserves. In a small bowl, combine bacon, walnuts, and blue cheese. Spoon on top of jam; drizzle with balsamic glaze. Serve immediately.
