I'm thinking I need to make this for dinner ASAP.

Bad Bunny’s Favorite Meal Is Pure Comfort Food

Bad Bunny is something of a Renaissance man. He’s in the top 10 most streamed artists on Spotify, and he’s been the musical guest on Saturday Night Live three times.
In fact, he was so good at the small cameos he had while on SNL that they even brought him back to host the show—in one memorable sketch he and Pedro Pascal play overprotective family members when Marcello Hernández’s character brings home a new girlfriend.
And it seems like Benito’s acting career isn’t going to stop with SNL. He’s in the new Happy Gilmore sequel, Happy Gilmore 2, alongside Adam Sandler.
Of course, all this work probably has him working up an appetite. Long days in the studio or on set can be stressful, and I’m sure that what he craves is something tasty and comforting. So I was not surprised to hear that Bad Bunny’s favorite meal is basically a big bowl of comfort food.
What is Bad Bunny’s favorite meal?
In a video for Harper’s Bazaar, Bad Bunny describes his favorite foods to Chef Guillermo Lopez Folch. He cooks them in real time, and they chat about the food they ate growing up in Puerto Rico. It’s a fun video, and the two of them swap their tips for making delicious Latin cuisine while sharing childhood memories.
A lot of the meals they love use sofrito. The blend varies from country to country (and honestly, family to family), but it’s a mix of ají dolce peppers, culantro, onions, garlic, bell peppers and cilantro. Culantro is a pungent leafy green herb that’s much stronger than cilantro, and it’s a staple in Puerto Rican cuisine.
Once the sofrito ingredients are sauteed together, they become a beautiful aromatic base for a variety of dishes. One of those is Bad Bunny’s favorite meal: arroz con salchichas, or rice and sausage. The meal comes together on the stovetop, adding sofrito, sausage, tomato paste, broth, rice and various spices to a pan until everything simmers together.
Honestly, this could be your next weeknight dinner. It’s been so hot lately where I live that I’ll be saving this dish for when the weather cools down. Putting together arroz con salchichas and sitting down to listen to the latest Bad Bunny album sounds like a perfect summer evening!
