Self-rising flour- More than 1 cup

As a substitute for each cup of self-rising flour, place 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a measuring cup. Add all-purpose flour to measure 1 cup.

Butter-Dipped Biscuit Squares

Ingredients

  • 4 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups 2% milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°. In a large bowl, combine self-rising flour and sugar; stir in milk just until moistened. Pour half the butter into a 9x9-in. baking dish. Spoon batter into dish. Gently spread batter evenly in dish using a spatula. Score top of batter into 9 pieces. Drizzle with remaining 1/4 cup butter.
  2. Bake until lightly browned, 20-25 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes before cutting into 9 pieces. Serve warm.
